The Shakespeare Globe Centre Australia (SGCA) has enjoyed the support of the Faculty of Education and the University of Sydney for a number of years.

Earlier this year the University announced a change to the criteria of what constituted a research centre and conducted a review of the various research centres housed and supported by the University.

The result of this review is that the University has decided the SGCA does not meet the new guidelines and has decided to withdraw their support.

Without the support of the Universtiy it is not viable for the SGCA to continue and so it has ceased trading on the 10th of November 2007.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank all the students, teachers, actors and audiences who have participated in our programs over the last 17 years.
