In the mornings, students will learn a variety of performance skills including physical theatre, movement and dance, puppetry, forum theatre, music composition and theatre of image. Workshops will be followed by specialist workshops on the text, prepared by actors and directors who are currently staging the production.
In the afternoons, students, working in groups depending on interests and level of experience will work closely with one of our professional team to tear apart the play, turn it inside out, upside down… literally whatever you want… and create a brand new performance of Romeo and Juliet.
And if that wasn’t enough, your performances will be watched by members of the Shakespeare Globe’s Company of Players, who will be performing Romeo and Juliet in May, and they will use your work as the beginning of their creative process.
